Responsibility:

• Supervise laboratory analyzes, boiler water chemistry, water treatment and waste water treatment processes to support Coal Power Plant operation at optimum, safe and in compliance with environmental regulation.
• Maintain accurate and thorough records of laboratory procedures and results; ensure compliance with government regulations; prepare analytical work sheets and reports.
• To play a leading role, both by example and encouragement, in promoting an effective safety culture and securing compliance with all company and legislative Health and Safety requirements.
• Solve recurring and outstanding plant chemistry problems related to the plant systems or equipment; in order to improve plant performance.
• Create standard operating procedures (SOP), material safety data, and chemical handling procedure, water chemistry procedures, and sampling & analysis procedures, environmental procedures, setting up a laboratory.
• Planning the annual consumption of chemicals and laboratory equipment & advice procurement in good time to ensure adequate stocks exist at all times
• Initiate the standard routine required to ensure all water as well as waste water chemical parameters are maintained within specified limits.
• Ensure that the power plant chemical regime is being operated in an efficient manner.
• Guide operation staff on how to maintain proper chemical regime and to operate various plants as per the supplier’s guidelines for maintaining the dosing & chemical levels.
• Independent judgement need to be taken based on the analysis results & comparing with the standard.
• Ensure Environmental records are maintained up to data. Calibration of all laboratory analytical equipment’s.
• Ensure the coal and ash quality on routine basis.
• Prepare the daily, monthly, annual report of water cycle chemistry.
• Ensure safe keeping / handling of laboratory tools and equipment.
• To coordinate / manage a team of contractors in maintaining, testing and commissioning Laboratory equipment.
• Initiate changes and additions to Laboratory and QC documentation such as HIRAC/JSA documentations and Work Instructions.
• Assist Section Head in developing effective annual budget for Laboratory and QC section.
• Assist Section Head on annual performance review, disciplinary matters and counseling for subordinates.
• Train and develop laboratory & QC team.

Job Requirements:

• S1 Chemistry / Analyst Technic.
• Must have at least 5 (five) years work experience in power plant or other relevant chemical industries for boiler water chemistry, water and waste-water treatment.
• Familiar with Power Plant Chemistry Laboratory equipment.
• Proficiency in English both written and communication.
