Job Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years as a baker in a professional baking setting, demonstrating growth and progression in the role.
• Proficiency in baking techniques with a focus on Western cuisines, especially those prominent in breakfast cafes or bakery shops.
• A comprehensive understanding of Western baking methods, including an extensive range of pastries and bakery items.
• Demonstrated capability to work in a fast-paced environment, both as an individual contributor and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, capable of both understanding and executing complex baking recipes and instructions and effectively conveying information to peers and subordinates.
• Skilled in quickly adjusting to changing menus and adopting new baking techniques and recipes as required.
• Maintains a consistently positive and constructive attitude in all workplace interactions.
• Demonstrated commitment to hard work, consistently going above and beyond to meet bakery standards and customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the production of bread, pastries, and other baked goods to ensure quality and consistency.
• Develop, test, and refine recipes to meet the shop's standards and customer preferences.
• Regularly check the quality of baking ingredients and finished products, ensuring they adhere to the shop's standards.
• Train junior bakers and staff, providing them with the necessary skills and techniques to maintain product consistency and quality.
• Monitor and manage inventory of baking ingredients, ensuring timely ordering and minimizing waste.
• Ensure baking equipment is in optimal condition, scheduling regular maintenance and cleaning.
• Adhere to food safety standards and maintain a clean and hygienic baking environment.
• Work closely with the Sous Chef or kitchen team to collaborate on menu items and ensure a harmonized offering.
• Keep up with the latest baking trends and techniques to bring innovation and fresh ideas to the bakery section.
• Engage with customers, gather feedback, and adjust offerings or techniques as needed to meet customer satisfaction.
