PT. Annisa Surya Kencana (ASK) is a forestry concessionaire with a genuine commitment to conserve the environment, enhancing social and economic benefits for neighbouring communities around its forest concession. In delivering its commitment, our company incorporates communication and engagement program at its core business plan to pursue successful multi-use forestry business. Our company wishes to expedite exemplary model demonstrating an innovation to create novel and/or empower existing communication practices that are socially impactful and beneficial to stakeholders.
To strengthen the engagement to stakeholders in the long run, our company is in search of a professional who has proven track record in communications and outreach at manager or advisory roles. The manager is expected to deliver research on policies and program areas to develop strategic communications to deliver mutually beneficial relationships between the company and its key stakeholders.
The Communications manager will report directly to the Operation Director and will be in close collaboration with other operation departments. This will in turn be a pivotal milestone in delivering the company's mission and vision.  Day to day, the manager works in office and be the proxy of company’s communications.
Communication manager oversees all internal and external communications for the company, ensuring its message is consistent and contextually-right. The main duties include preparing detailed website content, media reports, press releases, FAQs and marketing materials. The manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and sharpening the communication procedure, community engagement strategies, outreach process and activities that deliver best-practice and effective communications for the company including but not limited to the preparation of strategy and planning documents, budget preparation, risk analysis and compliance with applicable government regulations, as well as conformity with the norms and ethics of sustainable forest management practices.
Qualification:
- Minimum bachelor's degree in communications, international relations, environmental and/or development studies, or other relevant disciplines, having a master's degree will be prioritized.
- Experience in a similar role in the industry and/or experience in the development and implementation of delivering communications and change outcomes in companies, international institutions/development agencies or civil society institutions for at least 7 years.
- Having professional certification, formal or vocational education that can support the preparation of the best practice communication and outreach would be an added value.
- Able to collaborate in teams and across departments and have mature professional leadership character and able to adapt to the dynamics of the situation in the interaction with stakeholders and communities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to communicate in English both verbal and written.
- Able to operate and familiar with Microsoft 365 operating system.
- Demonstrated experience in public outreach, strategic communication, campaign or social media team in the public or private sector.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and other desktop publishing and design packages is desirable.
Specific tasks:
- Develop, deliver and monitor communications procedure, stakeholders (incl. community) engagement strategies, outreach process and activities that deliver best-practice and effective communication.
- Develop communication materials for various audiences, which may include website design and content management, communication and stakeholder products, videos and accessible formats to support public information needs.
- Maintain successful relationships with policy makers and the program areas, anticipating and assessing their strategic communication needs.
- Together with Community Development Manager and Business Development Manager, to support the Village-level Community Empowerment Program Plan and other cross-cutting programs.
- Consult with management team to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises.
- Take steps to mitigate reputational risk, convey the development of the situation directly, and respond in a timely manner to complex and urgent communication issues.
- Prepare activity plans and budgets periodically (monthly, semester and yearly).
- Prepare periodic work progress reports (monthly, semester and yearly).
- Build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Develop materials to educate staff on communication practices and conduct training and systematic and periodic mentoring to the team members.
- Identify opportunities to improve communication channels, leveraging emerging technologies where appropriate.
