We are currently seeking a Sales Engineer to join our Sales Team in Jakarta

Job Purpose

  • Sales and commercialization of ifm products and services in a selected area or group of ifm customers in Indonesia
  • Build-up and further development of customer base in Indonesia
  • Creating added value for customers and ifm
  • Predominantly contact customer by email, phone calls, MS Teams, social media such as LinkedIn; physically face-to-face visits when needed

Job Description / Responsibilities

  • Developing the pool accounts (small customers and potential customer) by promoting ifm sensors, controls and solutions among machine builders and manufacturing plants
  • Identify and qualify prospect accounts for potential opportunities
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the customers' business model, needs, issue and machine/application requirements to determine the best fit for ifm solutions and overall ROI (Return on Investment)
  • Present technical solutions to customers only after fully understanding a customers business model with its challenges and needs
  • Work in a sales team environment to leverage expertise across the sales team
  • Actively approaches new business and prospecting to develop future growth

Requirements & Skills

  • 3 to 5 years of related technical sales experience preferably in Automotive, Machine Tools, Port & Shipping, Packaging, and Processing Industries
  • Bachelors / Diploma Degree in Electrical / Industrial / Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or Physics / Instrumentation
  • Strong Mechanical attitude, Electrical and Industrial automation experiences is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify and close prospect accounts
  • Good communication, presentation and sales skills by using digital media like emails, WhatsApp, social media, to provide customers with the value-added support that makes ifm unique in the sensor business
  • Fluent in English & Bahasa for business communication in verbal and written with customer and colleague in regional and global offices
  • Drive and determination to succeed, even in adversity
  • Attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-disciplined with a sense of urgency to be a collaborative business partner
  • Ability to work with various teams as well as independently
  • Having experiences with CRM (i.e. Salesforce.com)
