Job Role:

System Administration and Provisioning

1. Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
2. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
3. Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.

Operation and Support

1. Manage servers including patching, hardening and upgrade systems with new releases.
2. Manage users and access control.
3. Ensuring daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
4. Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
5. Provide support per request from various parties related to issues and outages.
6. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted parties.

Maintenance

1. Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
2. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
3. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.

Requirements:

Minimum Required Skills/Experience

1. Proven knowlegde on Linux environment, specifically Ubuntu Linux Server
2. Managing Linux servers in an enterprise environment.
3. Expertise Virtualization (Proxmox, VM Ware, etc)
4. Having experience in implementing two-factor authentication method in server and OS level
5. Having experience using QNAP as storage
6. Having experience in data protection (back up, restore, replication, DR - disaster recovery)
7. Having experience in Technical Leadership
8. Must have advanced level knowledge of the concepts, practices, and procedures of the field of specialization.

Required Skills

1. Having experience in running configuration management
2. Strong knowledge of infrastructure, systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
3. Having experience in system hardening in OS level
4. Ability to work with database developers, engineers, and different operations teams.
5. Proficient in determining the appropriate strategy for recoverability and continuity of business operations.
6. Having relevant knowledge of current and emerging technologies

Preferred Skills

1. Having knowledge in developing PKI environment for continuous deployment.
2. Having experience on Storage Administration on NAS / SAN environment.
3. Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
