Purpose of Role: The Area Sales Engineer will be primarily responsible for all sales activities for the purpose of achieving or exceeding sales growth targets, developing new accounts, building strong customer relationship with focus on Weir Minerals Processing product portfolio and related projects along with cross selling of our other well-known brands.

Key Responsibilities:
· Focus Area: Develop new business and increase opportunities for Weir’s product range with their respective accounts by establishing and maintaining a positive working relationship with customer’s employees (reliability, maintenance, operations).
· Focus Area: Interact with Field Engineers, Product Managers and Engineering team members with a solution solving mindset and have a solid understanding of all equipment or materials in the Weir product portfolio to provide technical and maintenance support, including technical problem solving on-site.
· Focus Area: Provide accurate forecasts weekly and monthly to management; a business plan for the assigned accounts that covers all focused market segments, product technologies & services should be developed and executed to achieve and exceed budgeted input, output and EBIT objectives for accounts and region.
· Focus Area: Close all opportunities within the delegated accounts or obtain detailed information on lost opportunities, including spotting trends, research and customer segmentation, competitive intelligence, competitive strategies, new product projects, and managing customer demands.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

· Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
· Bachelor's Degree (Business or Engineering).
· 5+ years of mining industry experience is preferred.
· Prior knowledge of slurry pumps, cyclones, valves, and rubber products is preferred.
