Job Qualifications:
  1. A high school diploma or equivalent is usually required. Additional vocational or technical training in warehousing or inventory management is a plus.
  2. Storekeepers should be highly organized and detail-oriented to maintain accurate records and inventory levels.
  3. The job often involves lifting and moving heavy items, so good physical condition is important.
  4. Basic math skills are necessary to perform inventory calculations and maintain accurate records.
  5. Familiarity with inventory management software or basic computer skills may be required.
Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and update inventory records, ensuring accuracy, and tracking items in and out of the store.
  2. Receive incoming shipments, inspect them for damage, and verify orders against packing slips or invoices.
  3. Properly store items, ensuring they are well-organized and easily accessible.
  4. Retrieve items from inventory based on requisitions or work orders and package them for delivery.
  5. Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed to prevent stockouts.
  6. Check items for quality and report any damaged or expired goods.
  7. Update inventory databases, record receipts, and perform data entry tasks.
  8. Keep the store area clean and organized.
  9. Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and other relevant data.
  10. Ensure compliance with safety and inventory control procedures.
  11. Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, to fulfill orders and maintain inventory levels.
  12. Safeguard the store against theft and unauthorized access.
  13. Maintain accurate records and ensure all paperwork is complete.
