ABOUT THE ROLE:

Located in Batam, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for the management of the day-to-day accounting and finance needs of both our Brisbane, Australia,  Head Office and the manufacturing facility in Batam, as well as the development and maintenance of key reports and business KPI’s across the business.

Naturally detail oriented and driven to seek out innovation and improvement, the ideal Candidate will be responsible for the financial and operational performance of our manufacturing operations, as well as providing insight and recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.

The Senior Accountant will report to the Finance Manager and work closely with the Leadership Team in both Indonesia and Australia. The Senior Accountant may also be required to co-ordinate information between the Brisbane Head Office and the Batam Office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Ensure day to day accounting activities comply with accounting policies standards

·        Oversee all aspects of financial accounting for the manufacturing and Head Office operations, including cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting

·        Managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions across the business

·        Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support business decision-making

·        Develop and implement financial control systems and processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information

·        Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational processes and reduce costs

·        Preparation of Monthly Progress Claims

·        Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and reconciliations for management review

·        Preparation of Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow Statements

·        Work alongside the Senior Management Team on budgets, planning and forecasting

·        Financial review of tenders prior to submission. Contract administration and maintenance

·        Managing the Payroll function

·        Assist with the review of production targets

·        Perform thorough variance analysis on cost deviations

·        Develop standard costs and Bill of Materials in collaboration with the CFO

·        Play an active role in costing new products

·        Assist in the preparation for and completion of financial audits

·        Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and best practices in manufacturing accounting

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

·        The ideal Candidate will have at least a Diploma in a field related to the Job Responsibilities above. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance will be highly regarded

·        Knowledge of AASB (Australian Accounting Standards) will also be highly regarded

·        2 years minimum of work experience in similar field preferred

·        Exceptional written and verbal skills, both linguistically and numerically

·        Proficient with Xero

·        Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
