Job Requirements:

• 3 years of experience as a cook in a professional kitchen setting, with a track record of progressing to a senior role.
• Proficiency in a range of cooking techniques, with specialization in Western cuisines, especially those common in breakfast cafes or similar establishments.
• A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and culinary fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, able to understand and execute recipes and instructions and convey information to other team members effectively.
• Ability to adapt to changing menus and learn new techniques and recipes quickly.
• Maintains a consistently positive and constructive attitude in all workplace interactions.
• Demonstrated commitment to hard work, consistently going above and beyond to meet bakery standards and customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the preparation of dishes according to the cafe's standard recipes.
• Ensure consistent quality and taste of dishes before they are served to customers.
• Work with the Sous Chef and other senior kitchen staff to develop and refine menu items based on seasonal ingredients and customer feedback.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring regular cleaning and basic maintenance.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, sharing knowledge and techniques to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.
• Strictly adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring that the kitchen remains a clean and hazard-free environment.
• Assist in monitoring kitchen inventory, notifying supervisors when stock levels are low or when ingredients don't meet quality standards.
• Take on feedback from customers and peers to continuously improve dishes and overall kitchen operations.
• TWork closely with other kitchen staff and floor supervisors to ensure timely and accurate order preparation and delivery.
