Job Description
The opportunity
The regional finance manager will support IFRS 17 account posting and reporting implementation and solution delivery within Asia Finance to connect with the local business units.
Responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact to communicate IFRS 17 account posting and reporting implementation issues and solution for Asia IFRS 17 accounting and finance workstream
- Assess and review Asia financial impact of IFRS 17 account posting rules and chart of account mapping changes between sub-ledger and general ledger driven by Group Corporate Office and IT vendor system enhancement and new application deployment
- Assess and review source of finance data, process and system gap based on existing IFRS 17 implementation state and target state for IFRS 17 account posting and reporting solution implementation development
- Create and review enhancement of business requirement document in terms of data input, process flow and system requirements to support IFRS 17 account posting and reporting for enhancement and development of IFRS 17 finance system solution
- Develop UAT test cases based on business requirement document, system enhancement and new application deployments to allow the local business unit execution
- Execute UAT testing and resolve UAT findings at Asia regional office level
- Provide timely turnaround solution for IFRS 17 account posting rules and reporting result in IFRS 17 ledger to support the execution of parallel run and closing processes of the local business units within Asia division
- Monitor specific IFRS 17 account posting and reporting implementation issues during parallel run within Asia Division for impact local business units to ensure IFRS 17 financial quality delivery in timely manner
- Supervise and support business analyst and shared service team members for IFRS 17 account posting and reporting during testing and parallel run phases
- Prepare presentation deck for Asia regional office IFRS 17 implementation lead to summarize identified implementation issues and provide resolution or turnaround solution on behalf of accounting and finance workstream to Asia regional controller and Asia management
- Support IFRS 17 implementation lead through hands-on experience in design with the ability to articulate best practice and workflow for IFRS 17 accounting and system solution delivery
- Assist in ad hoc assignment to support IFRS 17 implementation lead as required
- Adhere closely to project timeline and escalate issues in a timely manner

What we are looking for
- Degree holder in Business Administration, Statistics, Risk Management or Finance / Accounting
- With IFRS 9 and 17 knowledge and implementation experiences associated with financial system roll-out and IFRS 17 financial application enhancement would be distinct advantage.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English
- Experience in life insurance industry or sizable financial institution in bancassurance for finance department or project finance is a critical attribute
- Experience in account posting and reporting system testing contribution related to IFRS 17 sub-ledger solution is a critical attribute
- Experience by end-user level of Moody’s Risk Integrity IFRS 17 solution is an advantage
- Experience in financial system change or new account posting or finance application roll out is an advantage
- Experience in handling life insurance IFRS 4 and IFRS 17 chart of account mapping is a an advantage
- Experience in participating in life insurance regular financial reporting process, IFRS reporting deliverables within local office or group office level is an advantage
- Experience in handling MS power pivot DAX formula and data modelling for account posting and reporting is a plus
- At least and over 5 years relevant working experience (Less experience will considered as Assistant Manager)
- Excellent MS excel skill in financial modelling
- Excellent MS power point skill to summarize and present in the combination of issue, business statistic, rationale, impact, action item, process flow / workflow, timeline
- Able to multi-tasks and handle multiple prioritizes
- Able to work independently under pressure and tight timeline
- Well organized and pay attention to details
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with personnel at various levels
- Ability to demonstrate independent research and problem solving skill
