Overview

Expanding in payments is a critical strategic objective in Mastercard’s corporate strategy. In this pursuit, we have leveraged our Transfer Solutions suite of products including Send and Cross Border Services to target Disbursements & Remittances (D&R) flows.

New Payment Flows product team is a part of Mastercard’s Products & Innovation (P&I) organization. This team is responsible for product management and commercialization of Mastercard’s Real-time Payment Solutions (infrastructure & applications), Cross Border Services, and Send in the AP region. These solutions are key enablers of Mastercard’s muti-rail strategy that brings together our cards and account based capabilities, offering wider choice and flexibility to our customers and their consumers.

With respect to the above, we are looking for a Manager – Business Development, Disbursements & Remittances, to drive product strategy and go-to-market execution for Send and Cross Border Services in Indonesia. This position is responsible to deliver GDV & Net Revenue KPIs against the customers that are allocated to their portfolio.

Role

Working in direct collaboration with our Account Management colleagues that manage/own customer relationships, the B2B Regional & Global product teams, Data & Services and other cross functional teams, the successful candidate will be responsible to:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy for disbursements and remittances, including market analysis, competitive positioning, and target customer segments.
• Identify new market opportunities, potential partnerships, and innovative solutions to enhance the organization's disbursement and remittance offerings.
• Conduct thorough research on industry trends, customer needs, and regulatory requirements to drive informed business decisions.
• Grow, maintain, convert, and track a healthy pipeline of Large Market/B2B opportunities across all issuers/fintechs, including new players in this space.
• Identify, negotiate, and establish strategic partnerships with financial institutions, payment processors, technology providers, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with partners to develop joint value propositions, go-to-market strategies, and revenue-sharing models.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing partners, monitoring performance, and identifying opportunities for collaboration or expansion.
• Identify and target potential clients, including corporates, government agencies, financial institutions, and other relevant entities.
• Lead the client acquisition process, including prospecting, pitching, contract negotiation, and onboarding.
• Nurture and maintain relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences related to disbursements and remittances.
• Conduct market research, gather customer feedback, and analyze data to identify new product/service offerings, pricing strategies, or market entry opportunities.
• Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on business development activities, market insights, and progress against goals.
• Collaborate with internal teams, such as product development, operations, finance, and legal, to ensure the successful implementation and delivery of new business initiatives.
• Work closely with the marketing team to develop effective marketing campaigns, collateral, and promotional materials to support business development efforts.

All About You

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
• Proven 5 years’ experience in business development, preferably in the disbursements and remittances industry or related financial services sector.
• Strong knowledge of payment systems, disbursement methods, remittance channels, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated success in identifying, developing, and closing business opportunities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to analyze market trends, identify gaps, and propose innovative solutions.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners, clients, and industry stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using CRM tools, data analysis software, and MS Office applications.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
