• Give accurate and timely counsel and assistance to the management in a variety of legal topics such as operational activities, labor law, partnerships, business development, etc.
• Advise on a wide range of legal, commercial, and compliance matters, including payments and lending regulations, data privacy, intellectual property, M&A and AML/CFT that might apply to the Spenmo platform in Indonesia.
• Maintain all relevant licenses and ensure Spenmos compliance with all regulatory obligations in Indonesia.
• Prepare and review agreements applicable to Spenmos suite of products and services.
• Provide practical end-to-end legal advice to manage legal risks while advancing business objectives.
• Monitor relevant legislative developments and advise on any impact there might be on existing business lines.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with regional stakeholders, including, Product, Finance, Strategy and Marketing.
• Contribute to the development, and implementation of legal know-how, training materials, and optimising workflows for Spenmo.
• Engage, instruct and manage external counsel as necessary.

• Minimum 5-8 years PQE, with a strong preference for candidates with prior in-house experience in a fintech or technology company. Any payment-related regulatory advisory or multifinance company experience would be a bonus
• Prior private experience in a highly regarded law firm.
• Experience in liaising with regulators in Indonesia (i.e. OJK and BI), regional transactional M&A work, data privacy, regulatory and compliance processes applicable to new technologies.
• Strong analytical, communication and writing skills, including the ability to distill complex legal issues effectively for business stakeholders.
• Motivated, efficient, and organised with a proven track record to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Enthusiastic about the fintech space, dealing with novel regulatory issues and a willingness to adapt.
• Demonstrates ability to deliver practical, thoughtful and commercially-minded results that appropriate balance business growth and legal risk.
• Effectively bilingual in English and Indonesian.
