We are currently seeking a Sales Engineer to join our Sales Team in Jakarta

Job Purpose

  • Drive sales of ifm products by capitalizing on opportunities at high potential machine builders and end users for Food & Agriculture (F&A) and Water Industries
  • Creating added value for customers and ifm
  • Increase market share, sales and active buying customer base in the Food & Agriculture (F&A) and Water Industries

Job Description / Responsibilities

  • Implement a sales process that clearly defines the customers' challenge, their concept for a solution, and the expected ROI (Return Of Investment)
  • Effectively communicate with customers using digital media such as MS Teams, LinkedIn, phone calls and other platform
  • Conduct in-person meetings on large projects to evaluate machines / equipment, solve applications or present ifm solutions
  • Win specifications at key corporate headquarters for machine builders and end users for Food & Agriculture (F&A) and Water Industries customers
  • Work with a collaborative team of colleagues across the country to achieve the same goals
  • Work closely with the global and regional ifm team for Food & Agriculture (F&A) and Water on developing the market and on winning global opportunities
  • Work closely with regional or global Product Management team to identify the customer application needs regarding new products, sales tools and required services
  • Approach and engage with customers and potential customers to learn about their business, how they make their products, the KPI (Key Performance Index) and the initiatives they have for improvement
  • Develop and maintain a sales funnel with enough opportunities in all stages to meet and exceed the annual sales growth target
  • Willing to travel up to 50% of working time for sales visit, product training, and meeting to customer site and ifm regional offices
  • Continuously learn the automation industry trends in Food & Agriculture (F&A) and Water and also ifm solutions that relate to those trends, then elaborate with customer to improve the opportunity stage and winning rate
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks

Requirements & Skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of the end users, machine builders, industrial application, and key trend in Food & Agriculture (F&A) and Water
  • More than 5 years of experience growing sales of process and automation products Food & Agriculture (F&A) and Water is preferred
  • Bachelors / Diploma Degree in Electrical / Industrial / Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or Physics / Instrumentation
  • Current, comprehensive understanding of process controls and automation technologies
  • Ability to identify, qualify and attain key prospect accounts for potential opportunities and having experiences with CRM (i.e. Salesforce.com)
  • Understand customers business models and machine / application requirements to determine the “best fit” for ifm solutions
  • Ability to develop and execute a strategy to gain access to large potential accounts. A proven, comfort level interfacing with various departments in these accounts including Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Service
  • Good communication, presentation, computer, negotiation and sales skills to provide customers with the value-added support and unique solutions
  • Good in verbal and written business communication skills in English and Bahasa to effectively interact with all levels of our organization
  • Ability to work with various teams as well as independently
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of working time, including international travel for sales visit, product training, and meeting to customer site and ifm regional offices
  • Possess car driving license (SIM A) is preferred
