The general manager of operations plans, coordinates, or directs the operations of the company. You will direct and coordinate the activities of the company or departments concerned with the pricing, production, inventory, sales, and distribution of products. You will also be in charge of managing staff, preparing the work schedules, and assigning specific duties to the staff. Plus, you will review the reports, financial statements, and performance data to know the productivity and if the set goals have been achieved. You will also determine the areas that will need adjustment and improvement.

Core Task

• Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations. Measures productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports. Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources, finance, and logistics to ensure successful production operations.
• Provide leadership and vision by assisting the board and staff with the development of long range and annual plans, and with the evaluation and reporting of progress on strategies;
• Set and achieve key performance targets for: Production Planning and Inventory Control
• Develop and nurture a dynamic and competent workforce through a robust performance driven culture. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage innovation.
• Enforces all company policies, including safety, production, quality, sales, human resources, customer service and accounting policies.
• Monitors the facilitys equipment needs and ensures that the technical team is working to keep the companys equipment and physical facility are properly maintained.

Education

Bachelors Degree or the equivalent in business, industrial engineering or a related field.

Job requirements :

• 5-10 years of general management experience in a similar sector (electronic consumer goods, manufacture and distribution environment
• 5+ years experience managing a full P&L and balance sheet, leading to EBIT growth within a retail brand will be highly regarded
• The role requires an experienced operations manager with a background in manufacture and distribution, with a flair for innovation and ingenuity, process efficiency and new business development as part of a growing group of successful companies.
• Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations, PPIC etc.)
• Possess working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques including: Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, Visual Management and JIT Lean manufacturing
• They must be willing to be flexible, be a great communicator, have strong negotiation skills with a measured approach to dealing with internal and external stakeholders. Have an exceptional influencing, leadership and key stakeholder management skills with a strong understanding of retail and team management. Easily able to build relationships with manufacturer's, service providers and internal teams.
